Cranberry sauce is a staple with they Turkey for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately with my family we often forget the cranberry sauce in the refrigerator and remember just as we are finishing up with our meal. This one, however, is so good it will be on your mind and you won’t forget about it.

  • 1 granny smith apple, cored, seeded, and chopped
  • 1 tart red apple, cored, seeded, and chopped
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries, washed
  • 1 small onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp orange zest
  • 1 Tbsp ginger, freshly grated
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  1. Put all ingredients in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and allow to cook for 20 minutes.
  3. Uncover and cook for a few more minutes to the liquid consistency you desire.
  4. It can be kept in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
